Trauma Therapy

The essence of trauma is disconnection, from ourselves, from others, and from the present moment.”

– Dr. Gabor Maté

A Relational, Somatic, and Human Approach

Trauma doesn’t live in the story; it lives in the body. That’s why I don’t just offer talk therapy.

Together, we work with what arises in the moment: sensations, images, memories, emotions, even silence.

My approach is grounded in:

  • Inner Child Work– reconnection with younger parts of self

  • Attachment Repair-for those who never knew consistent safety in a relationship

  • Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Somatic Tremoring- to support nervous system regulation

  • Gestalt Informed- presence-based and relational.

  • Meditation and mindfulness develop a non-religious capacity to be with the present moment, feeling, somatic experience, inner processes, and greater self-acceptance.

More than qualifications

I hold formal training in trauma recovery modalities, but part of what I bring to the room is my own lived experience. I’ve lived through the disorientation of leaving a belief system. I know what the weight of complex trauma and the sense of overwhelm feels like. Like you, I have had to live through disorienting times that have challenged my belief system. I’ve come to realise that I can’t delete my past wounds, but to learn to live with them with spaciousness and compassion.

“I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being.”

Hafiz

Who is this for?

Many of the people I work with are:

  • Holding grief or shame that’s never been fully named
  • Highly functional on the outside but struggling to feel at peace inside
  • Feeling stuck in old patterns (people-pleasing, overthinking, avoidance)
  • Recovering from religious or spiritual abuse
  • Seeking a therapist who won’t pathologise, but will meet them human-to-human

Lets Talk

If this speaks to something inside you, even if it’s quiet or hesitant, I invite you to book afree 30-minute consultation. We can talk, ask questions, and see if it feels right.
